Sometimes I get up on my soapbox. This is one of those times. Spouse frequently asks me to spell words with an I and an e in them. I usually say something like "don't you remember the I and e mneumonic device?" Then he's all "I don't have time for a spelling rhyme." Which is funny, because he has the time to ask me. So here it is, the rhyme to remember whether e or I comes first.
"I before E, except after C, or when sounding like A as in neighbor or Weigh."
Doint it any other way, well, that'd be *weird*- yeah, weird you just need to remember.
