Pink Saturday:Displeased with the Photoshoot

Babies are creatures of very little patience. They also tend to be independent minded, and therefore do not care f you said "hold that smile" while waiting for the digital camera to catch up with the proceedings.
If I have one gripe about digital photography, it is the excessive time lapse between pressing the button and the picture actually being captured, which, with older subjects leads to fake-y strained smiles, and with younger ones... well, you see, I'm sure.
On the upside, digital cameras have made me a lot less afraid to try. No longer am I terrified of wasting film on a shot that only "might" be good. No, instead I can click off a hundred in the hopes that maybe one will be print-worthy. This bravado has, blissfully, led to more and more printworthy shots and a much more colorful family album than if I had to ration each snapshot.
Nonetheless, I do miss me some instantaneous 35mm captured joy.

Snapdragon does look a little less than enthused... awww... Anyway, I know what you mean about the slowness of digital cameras. When my old one died, I did lots of research and got one that is super fast just because I was tired of all the shots I got of the back of my son's head. Oh, he complied with my smile and say cheese request, and then he would take off running, and the camera couldn't keep up. So might I suggest the Canon Powershot SD750... to quote a review: "takes 1.0 second from start to shoot, with subsequent photos about 1.6 seconds apart without flash and 2.3 seconds with the flash enabled." In my own words... It is MUCH, MUCH faster than everyone else's camera that I know. :)

Slee, your post just makes me smile. The baby photo is funny and adorable. Yes, digital has it's drawbacks but it also has advantages. Like deleting photos you dislike. However, I often think our history will be compromised because we will not have photos 'in a box' to share in later years. An interesting thought huh? Happy Pink Sat.

Hugs...Jeanne

That's my biggest peeve of my camera. It takes about 2 seconds to actually snap the shot and with a one year old 2 seconds usually misses the shot !!!

I understand the frustration with digital at times but I love that you can take a zillion and delete what you don't like. Happy PS and please come by and see me!

He's precious! Peanut never smiles in her photos either. As soon as she sees the camera she furrows her brows.

That is my main complaint about digital photography too. But sine I can (and do) just keep clicking I usually get a bunch of good pictures. :)
